    Renault Kangoo extends its lead in low CO2 emissions with 112g/km

     
    The Kangoo and Kangoo Express versions equipped with ENERGY dCi 75 and 90 engines will have CO2 emissions reduced to 112g/km[1] from September 2012. This development boosts the reputation of the passenger car and small van as the most frugal vehicles in their segments.

    Renault presented the Kangoo equipped with an ENERGY dCi 90 diesel engine at the Geneva Motor Show in March, announcing that it would have emissions of 115g/km. A few months later, as part of its Kaizen approach of continuous improvement in energy efficiency, Renault succeeded in reducing the CO2 emissions of Kangoo and Kangoo Express.

    Both vehicles now emit 112g/km (4.3 litres/100 km) in the ENERGY dCi 75 and 90 versions, featuring Stop&Start and Energy Smart Management.
    Cost in use for the ENERGY dCi 90 and 75 versions is 12% lower than for the dCi 75 and 90, the core range engine emitting 129g/km of CO2. This figure includes savings on fuel economy and an oil change[2].
    The new emissions record will strengthen Kangoo’s leadership on the LCV market in Europe.
    ENERGY dCi 90 and 75 – Technical Characteristics in brief :
    1.5-litre (1,461cc), four-cylinder, eight-valve turbocharged engine

    ESM braking/deceleration energy recovery
    EGR low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation
    DLC-coated (Diamond-Like Carbon) cam followers
    ANI fuel injection nozzles (with customised spray cone angle)

    [1] NEDC Cycle, Homologated consumption and CO2 emissions, according to each country’s legislation.
