Latest Nissan models at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show

The 2013 Geneva Motor Show marked the start of a new chapter in Nissan's history. The brand presented the latest generation of innovative models designed and built in Europe that are bound to become benchmarks in their respective segments.

With the unveiling of Resonance, Nissan revealed a bold vision of the future of Nissan crossovers. The vehicle’s exterior design explores new directions in the segment and points the way to the brand’s future styling, especially for Crossovers. Although Resonance is strictly speaking only a design study, its hybrid powertrain bears witness to Nissan’s commitment to respect for the environment.

Nissan also presented two new current production models: the new Note and the new LEAF.
The new Note has been given a complete facelift that takes it into the B segment with features that combine meticulous design and low emissions. It incorporates innovative technologies making their first appearance in the segment, such as the Around View Monitor (a parking assistance system) and the Nissan Safety Shield, which detects blind spots, especially when overtaking. All the Nissan Note’s powertrains are equipped with Stop& Start technology. These systems were developed to make driving even safer and Nissan wants to make them available to as many people as possible.

Although the design of the new LEAF has not changed dramatically, the vehicle does incorporate numerous technical and practical improvements: a range increased by 15% to 199 kilometres, a new powertrain, new heating system and a bigger boot. Moreover, the Nissan LEAF range now offers three equipment levels that are well known at Nissan: Visia, Acenta and Tekna. Originally produced in Japan, the LEAF will now be manufactured in Europe (United Kingdom) and in the United States.

Nissan also revealed two new Nismo models at the show. The Nissan 370Z Nismo sports a more aggressive, aerodynamic look and is equipped with a 3.7-litre V6 engine delivering 344hp. The Nissan Juke Nismo has bolder styling and is powered by a turbocharged 1.6-litre engine delivering 200hp. It is available with front-wheel or four-wheel drive.
